Rokiškis region traditions
The name of Rokiškis has been associated with high quality and rich taste cheese for long time. A little more than 10 years ago, the meat product “Rokiškio skilandis”, prepared according to the traditions of folk heritage, joined to the cheese in terms of associations with Rokiškis.
Selection of sweets of Rokiškis district is represented by šakotis which has been recognized as a national heritage of Lithuania and mushrooms, which have remained in many memories of childhood. We will try it all by tasting the special grape wine grown in the most northern vineyard of Lithuania, as well as various other wines made from fruits and berries, grown by “Roksala” farmstead.

36, 24 and 12 months ripened hard cheese “Rokiškio Grand”, made in Lithuania and matured in Italy! In 2017 “Rokiškio Grand” cheese won the annual award for best food product and gold medal in Lithuania.

The king of “Rokiškis Meet Factory” is a cold smoked “Rokiškių skilandis”. In 2013 skilandis has won the “Agrobalt” gold medal. Also, the pride of the factory is the dried beef fillet and cold-smoked (using black alder smoke) beef sausage, which won the annual food award in 2014. Also, the beer sausages and the dried Count Tizenhauss sausage.
The “Rokiškis Meet Factory” goes along with the current trends, but, based on the gained certificate of national heritage, it simultaneously combines the culinary traditions with the modern needs.
